I have mentioned it before, but like a lot of obsessive rejects with nothing better to do, I play World Of Warcraft a lot. And a pretty world-changing event, at least within the scope of the game, occurred a couple of days ago now. Yes, it was expansion-patch day. Continue Reading

I will come out and say this off the bat. I do not “get” the hero worship of the director named Christopher Nolan. No, wait, let me rephrase that. I get it just fine. It is just that once I get it, I do not want it anymore. As I have mentioned, I have insulin-dependent diabetes. I have had it since I was a little shy of ten years old, and have been promised an imminent cure ever since. So when I tell you that “…it’s time for my shot…” offended me more in that moment than two Rain Mans put together, I want you to understand my full meaning here. People who crap on that Christopher Nolan is some awesome director who can not do wrong can blow me. Their opinion has less meaning to me than the life of Jenny McCarthy. Continue Reading
As I believe much of the trimmings make clear, I started this journal with one very specific purpose in mind. To add my voice and perspective to the so-called debate about autism civil rights. I say so-called debate because as any person who pays attention to the proper meanings of words can tell you, debate implies something. It implies that there are two (or more) sides to the argument, and both have a certain amount of demonstrable merit. Continue Reading
Just like regular guys in real-life, celebrities are reported dead all of the time. How these deaths are reported is a fascinating subject in and of itself. For instance, when Frank Zappa died from complications of advanced prostate cancer in 1993, the “oh, by the way” manner in which his death was reported by the media outlets available to me at the time rocked me to the core. I was absolutely perplexed because they were talking about a man whose music continually said to me “it is not just okay to think, it is your civil duty“ in such an off-hand, who-cares way. So yes, I managed to fill out about 2600 or more words about my dealings in a computer game that I do not think a whole lot of for various reasons. And now I am going to fill out some more. Do not worry, I am not going to go as much into why I dislike the game or why I bother to play it this time. I am simply going to offer a few reflections concerning what has changed since I last wrote. Continue Reading
So I did what I have been speculating to myself about for some time, and started a new guild of my own on World Of Warcraft. The act of starting the guild, in itself, was quite a learning experience. Whilst it has changed over time, the present system with founding new guilds involves getting a charter, getting five signatures from unique players, and then turning it in to an NPC who basically hands you the keys to your new guild. So whilst I have my own guild that I am very slowly building up to what I want, I am also very slowly and staggeringly learning the ins and outs of running the damned thing. Continue Reading
It is said in some circles that if you really want to know a person, you should look at the people they call friends. Continue Reading
