Some photos that I took (with no pervasive theme)

Some time ago in this journal, I posted a statement that I was going to start posting some of the things I photographed with my Nikon D5100. After setting up a little Photobucket account and trying to get to grips with how Photobucket in its present form actually works, I started uploading some photographs that I took or edited in order to provide some examples here.

The above image is a campaign ad that I threw together in a matter of minutes. At the time, the “movement”, or rather the passive arms thereof were posting images of themselves with little feel-good stories about themselves and requests to stop donating to a “charity” that is soliciting funds to promote our genocide.

You have seen in earlier entries how I have blown gaskets at the shamefully passive attitude many so-called activisits have. This image was an attempt to inject a little awareness into proceedings that not every autistic activist is a rich, happy, well-off passive lump of passivity. This autistic son of a secretary and a factory worker wanted the world to know he was ready to put up a fight. A bloody one, if need be.

Moving on to nicer subject matter, the above image is me with one of my small collection of teddybears. The teddybear is a licensed plush doll that Blizzard Entertainment sells. Those who play the game will already know that it is based on the Gryphon that Alliance characters ride on between most flight points. Or more specifically, upon the young Gryphons that are seen around the villages of the Wildhammer Dwarrow.

I truly wish that I had investigated the option of using trackballs for input earlier. Although nobody can accuse them of being pefect, they beat the hell out of what we call mice. Seen above is the first trackball that I purchased for my first iMac, a Kensington K64325. As you may have also noticed from the above image, this K64325 got a lot of use. Right now, it is detached from my computer and awaiting a good clean.

Above is the new trackball I bought a couple of months ago. It is a Kensington Slimblade Trackball. Its surface height is noticeably lower than that of the older trackball above, making it easier to fit in a lot of sliding computer desk drawers. On the left, you will see a Lantus insulin pen.

Above is my computer desk. Yes, it is a fukking mess. Yes, there are more boxes and bottles of pills than most people would know what to do with. Yes, there is a screwdriver and a spoon sitting there for no readily apparent reason. Yes, there are several insulin pens, at least two of which are empty and disassembled. The bottle of vitamin pills does not mean I have taken up Scientology. My sunshine intake is inadequate, and will remain so long past the day I die. Yes, I need a bigger computer desk.

Above is basically what every person who has lived with diabetes for long enough will regard as a survival tool. Two jars, both with jellybeans. The lower jar is the general-purpose jar, where I pour jellybeans straight out of the packet. The top jar is my black jellybean jar. I separate the black jellybeans from the rest and put them in a jar of their own. A subtle comment on a racist world that we live in? Hardly. I just like black jellybeans enough that I will eat them on their own.

Oh yeah, and that little white tube with the maroon markings on it? That is a bottle of test strips for my blood glucose meter. Maybe there is some kind of symbolism there.

I hope these images were as much fun for you to look at as they were for me to take, process, and post. Maybe someday I will get around to trying to make this a regular thing.
