My mind boggles at times when I attempt to understand the enemy. The best way to summarise the problem is in a statement made by one autistic activist concerning Autism Speaks For Normie Assholes. They refuse to even meet us halfway. In fact, they go so far to insist their way or the highway that this alone can be taken as evidence of the lack of merit in their position. Continue Reading

I am not going to lie about this. I do not see parental units of any stripe as being automatically worthy of respect and praise. I do not care what anyone else thinks. Just because you are a parent does not mean I should treat you as if the sun shines out of your arse. Continue Reading
Well, I guess things have improved somewhat since I was in my twenties, since the outrage directed at Joe Scarborough prompted him to make what he regards as an apology. But for the many terrified autistic Children Of The ’80s and Powell types who are already afraid to even talk to people because of his original spew of rubbish, this would not even be good enough if it were a sincere apology. I suppose that I should learn to not be surprised by how disappointed I can get with people in the media, but the shooting in the Century 16 cinema at Aurora, Colorado has brought out a level of bullshit that I just find so disheartening to be on the same planet as. Previously, I wrote about a gun lobbyist rhetoric proclaiming the Wild West fantasy that if everyone in the theatre had a firearm, the death toll would be lower. First, so what? One person being shot dead when they were only out in search of a good time is still wrong. Second, when dozens of people start shooting, stray bullets tend to kill more than just “the offender”. It has occurred to me that I do not write nearly enough (in my view at least) about autism, what place there is in this world for me as an autistic adult, or the way forward for the autistic. I will try to correct this as best I can, but as anyone with a WordPress account knows, one can also look at their own statistics and see for themselves which tags and categories on their site are getting the most reads. Presently, the Media category gets nearly twice as many reads as does Autistic Identity, and a hundred more than its nearest competitor, Social Studies. Continue Reading
So, I was discussing the urgent need to replace the puzzle piece with one of our own, with an individual who is more inclined toward illustration and related visual art than I am. As has been discussed already, my candidates mostly have a TRON: Legacy theme to them. But the salient point in this writing is that according to the other conversant in the discussion, Autism Speaks has apparently decided that the colour blue is theirs and their campaign colour. A little while ago, I posted an extended commentary concerning Leah Jane‘s response to a “geek culture” display of hypocrisy. The original image is available everywhere, so I am not going to bother linking it. Whilst there are issues with Leah Jane‘s response, the basic fact of the matter is that the people going around like morons telling us all that they are “geeks” when they have never bitten the head off a chicken and swallowed it (look up “geek show” on the Wikipedia) are hypocrites to the Nth degree.
