Dear Kevin Rudd,

I have something I wish to say to you. Not just on behalf of myself, but on the behalf of many people who live on the scrap of land that you have been re-appointed to “lead”. Somewhere around 150,000 of them if we use credible rather than scaremonger estimates.

Dear Lieutenant General David Morrison

A little while ago, concerned about the rampant bullying and likely sexual assault of women serving in the Australian army, its chief, Lieutenant General David Morrison, issued a statement directed both at the Australian public and the officers or NCOs involved in the scandal. I will link his speech after the jump.

How I spent the second half of February

(A note before I begin: This entry is going to talk a lot about the goings-on inside an acute-care ward within a mental health facility. For that reason, I am going to use aliases and flat-out mess-ups of names in order to protect anonymity and privacy. Please do not ask me who is who, because even if I do remember, I am not going to tell you. Similarly, if you recognise yourself in these writings and would like to be completely blanked out, feel free to comment.)

So what happened?

I have a large caché of articles to go through this month, mostly because my flow from brain to “web” was interrupted. Unfortunately, moving interstate without a properly-researched plan can do this. I will go over the specifics of what happened upon arrival in Sydney at another point. Suffice to say for now that this is a sort of introduction to the future of this journal.
