One of my Fudgebook friends shared a news item. In it, the commercial entity known as Build-A-Bear Workshop announced (apparently to a mailing list) that they were ending their partnership with Autism Speaks For Normie Assholes. Great news by itself. But a wider context must be considered.

Things that need to be done for better inter-peoples communication.

You can tell a lot about a person by how they view themselves, the people they are a part of, or a particular outside group. This is an extension of “show me your friends and I will show you who you are”. It is about how you talk to your friends.

An open response to John Elder Robison

Very recently, concerns have been raised about John Elder Robison endorsing or supporting Autism Speaks For Normie Assholes on the sly. That is, his whole “I quit” declaration was basically smoke and mirrors. Robison has issued a statement that I will quote after the “jump” because it bears meaning in this case.

An autistic person just mouthed off at you? Really? I wonder why.

If there is one thing I hate more than a curebie, it is people who go into an autistic adult’s space and proclaim their support of curebies. And then act surprised when that autistic adult or adults respond with anger and hate.

Wanting a pat on the back, passives?

John Elder Robison’s mere existence offends me. Haha, yeah, I know, heavy statement and all. Call the cooops because Dean said something mean and nasty about a person who was inflicting untold psychological distress upon him, and all.
