More reflections on RoboCop (aka Paul Verhoeven is awesome, part three of eleventy billion multiplied by the square root of the distance between where I sit and Proxima Centaurii)

So after I published my previous writing about the subject of the most awesome film that has ever been made (and likely will be made, at least during my lifetime), I began to think to myself. I have really not begun to describe why it is so incredibly, utterly, mind-blowingly awesome, at least not on a level that fans can appreciate.

Democracy, diversity, and responsibility. Why these are so heavily linked. An attempt to explain this through rambling about films.

It seems a common problem in most, if not all, debates on the Internet these days. An idiot, and I am not naming names here because there are far too many examples, will write that X is better than Y, but never any specific reason why, much less a credible one. In my previous post, a sort of description about the wonders of having the Alien anthology on Blu-ray Disc, and in a comment I posted elsewhere that I do not care to talk about right now, I stepped very much in the wrong direction in this regard and made an attack upon the view of one writer that could be considered somewhat ad hominem.

Shove 3D up your arse and give us 48 FPS already, Hollywood!

I will not mince words here. During the last three years, Hollywood has developed such a raging hard-on for 3D that the attendance of theatrical exhibitions I used to make a habit of has fallen off to nothing. I hate it. Even when I have a good seat from which I can see anything in the poorly-designed theatres that are the expected norm in some places I will not glorify by naming here, trying to watch such an image is tantamount to pouring salt into the eyes.
