What is democracy?

In my previous post, I added a poll that was subsequently linked to separately. Now, whilst this poll does not follow any scientific protocol in order to prevent idiots trying to rig the results, I think that a singular poll from someone that the mainstream passives are trying their best to ignore anyway would be deemed unworthy of the effort. Having said that, the results are rather interesting.

Oh, look. People are taking the side of a (wannabe) murderer again.

So, how many weeks has it been since one brave soul who still has not owned up and thus spread the potential fallout to other neighbours made written threats to an autistic child and his mother? This is a serious question. I would like to be able to state an average concerning the number of identifiable threats the autistic receive from day to day, week to week, and so on.

Your demand for respect is why I do not respect you.

It is probably supremely ironic that as I sit down to write some contemplations about demands for “respect” on the behalf of Islam, I am watching the first X-Men film since 2003 that its makers should not be ashamed of. In the past, I have said that respect is something that you earn, not demand. But no part of life where dealing with other people is concerned is ever that simple.

Why I have not commented about the Eastwood debacle until now.

I will give it to you straight. Even though I am very interested in American politics as it affects the autistic and enforcement of their basic Human rights, unfortunately that same interest also makes me reluctant to read news about the Republican party and their doings. Maybe at some point, I will write my own commentary about how the Republican party that exists now, and existed during my lifetime so far, is a very different beast to the Republican party that Baby Boomers and such grew up with. But for now, I thought I would add my observations concerning Clint Eastwood and the debacle he made for his fellow Republicans a matter of weeks ago now.

As I believe much of the trimmings make clear, I started this journal with one very specific purpose in mind. To add my voice and perspective to the so-called debate about autism civil rights. I say so-called debate because as any person who pays attention to the proper meanings of words can tell you, debate implies something. It implies that there are two (or more) sides to the argument, and both have a certain amount of demonstrable merit.
