Autism civil rights has a very big problem. Essentially, so-called activists have decided that one culture, one vision, one order, one purpose, speaks for everyone who is autistic. This is wonderful for those of you who really do think Asshole from Big Nerd Blackface Stereotype Theory represents you. But it is an absolute nightmare for the rest of us.

A guide to Black Sabbath, for dummies

If you are seeking to understand the musical form that I have made reference to here on several occasions called doom metal, then you need to understand the musicians who invented it. And that means you need to understand the band called Black Sabbath. Although Black Sabbath had been kicking around the musical scene of industrial England (specifically, Birmingham) for several years, it was not until the band’s creative element reflected on why people go to see films specifically designed to scare them that they hit upon the idea that would distinguish them from the pack. A song called Black Sabbath was written, and the band found it such a great change in direction that they kept the name for themselves and resolved to write all of their future music in such a style.

“So… what do you like?”

It seems like such an innocent question. But when I hear people ask it of me, I sense a certain derision and even contempt in their voice that cannot help but make me angry. But it is also a reasonable question when approached correctly. The truth of the matter is that although I define myself a great deal by what I despise, have contempt for, or outright hate, I also define myself by the things I enjoy, or more specifically, why I enjoy them.
