How to “read” X-Men (like a mutant).

In a matter of months, the first X-Men film to feature Bryan Singer at the helm since 2003 will be released. This has brought forth a deluge of X-Men related posts on Fudgebook and other such publicity. But just like there is a How To Read Donald Duck in which analysis of Disney’s material is taken to extremes, I think it is worth taking a look at X-Men for similar reasons.

Some closing thoughts for the month.

July is an odd part of the year from my perspective. My mother was born in the last week of it, and I was diagnosed with diabetes exactly thirty years to that day. I have already resolved that if my dream of being in the Human trials for a cure for diabetes comes true, I will ask them to do that procedure on my mother’s birthday. She will “get it”.

What makes me me? Rage, hatred, quite frankly…

Note: the following is an outpouring of rage at a person who has caused this author nothing but pain during his life. That the person in person happens to be a masculine parental entity is beside the point. It is extremely nasty, to the point where murder sounds like a logical outcome of the conversation these statements would form part of. Do not clink on the full link if you are not a hundred percent sure you can handle it.

A number of times, I have used the words “Powell Aspie” or “Powell type” in this journal. The fact that there are all so many different kinds of autistic adults with different quirks and personality traits is something that we could write encyclopedias about. But trying to write explanations of what different types of anything are is a tedious endeavour with little in the way of returns. So instead, I will do what I am actually good at. Focusing on what I am or why.

Dear Fudgebook (aka more reasons why monopolies are bad)

It started a matter of weeks ago. I have attempted in every manner I know to make my anger at this known, but Fudgebook makes it virtually impossible to file an actual complaint about the service. Instead, when they alter the interface so that it gives certain people headaches to look at, one is expected to either grin and bear it, or move elsewhere.
