Oh, look. People are taking the side of a (wannabe) murderer again.

So, how many weeks has it been since one brave soul who still has not owned up and thus spread the potential fallout to other neighbours made written threats to an autistic child and his mother? This is a serious question. I would like to be able to state an average concerning the number of identifiable threats the autistic receive from day to day, week to week, and so on.

I was on my way to a court hearing today (Wednesday 17 of July) when one of my Fudgebook friends sent me a link in a message. The link pointed me to this document by Lisa Egan. I wish to comment about it some, but first, I would like anyone who is reading this document but has not read that one to go and read that one. Take your time, I do not mind waiting for your attention, because what Lisa has written at that site is one of the best things I have read in a long time.

I hate people.

The title of this essay should come as no surprise to anyone who knows me or knows what I have been through thus far. I hate mean old stupid ignorant people.

I am not going to dress this up or beat around the bush about it: the parallels between the civil rights struggle by black Americans in the 1960s and the present-day struggle for autism civil rights is inescapable. Among other similarities, there are groups that can loosely be referred to as “uncle Toms” in both camps that listen to the lies that the enemy tells them as negation effort.

Suprise of the week: militant gun owners are still morons.

Well, after all of my writings about the hurtful nature of stereotypes and why people use them, I suppose I had to come to this topic eventually. Recently, an individual went to a screening of the new Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, and shot dead a number of people. Terrible title aside, I do not know what could have possibly motivated this act. I could sit here and make jokes about how Christopher Nolan‘s godawful photographic style (shaking the camera about like an epileptic on meth, to quote Chris Bauer) being the cause, but that would be wrong and in poor taste.
