Science (If I may reflect for a while…)

Science is really one of the most wonderful and misunderstood things about the Human experience. I am no scientist myself. Hell, I only understand enough about it to know when someone is trying to bullshit me. But a recent proclamation of intent to “debate” got me thinking. How can I best explain the things that set my bullshit detector off?

Well, the world did not end. Act surprised.

As you should have already guessed from some of the references to time and events of the past, I was around for a prior proclamation that the entire world was going to end. Or turn into a steaming pile of droppings. End of world predictions tend to vary in terms of severity. In fact, during the dizzying heights of the Reagan administration, predictions that the world was going to end tomorrow came so thick and fast that people almost stopped paying them any mind.

An open letter to Playboy magazine (a first-draft effort)

(Note: before we begin, I will be addressing this letter to Hugh Hefner, who as of May 20, 2012, is still listed as Editor In Chief of Playboy magazine. But this letter should be considered directed at every person who works as part of the Playboy empire.)

Vorya Yarow’s letter to the so-called Autism Advisory Task Force

Vorya Yarow has written a letter to what is called the Autism Advisory Task Force. I do not know if this task force was the same bunch of delusional morons who brought us such great beats as the Combatting Autism Act or Helping Children With Autism (in Australia), but I will give them the benefit of the doubt this time and say they are not.

Now, people out there know full well that I have no kind words to say about the online fad called Fudgebook. But in order to get my voice heard and fight the good fight against normalist tyranny, I must unfortunately make some use of it.
