You should not be allowed to name your child anything you want.

Recently, I saw a news article on Fudgebook stating that a judge had ordered a mother to think of a different name for her son than “Messiah”. I say that it is about time. Did I mention that this judge and mother were Americans?

Just to reiterate: sterotyping hurts.

Whenever I start to really think about things like culture or how I look at others around me, I start to ask questions. Why do I see people in the manner that I do? How did we reach this point? Are the ways in which I see this person or this group of people fair? Questions like that can keep a philosophical person up at night, and I think it is only fair that these questions get proper exploration.

As is often my wont, I spent a few minutes having a think about aspects of my situation. That means every part of it, including the things I use to distract myself from it. And after one minor crap-exchange during a World Of Warcraft dungeon run with a very ignorant person that I and my party-mate of preference both disliked, I began to think to myself. What do the cultures that other people partake of look like to me, and why?

So after I published my previous writing about the subject of the most awesome film that has ever been made (and likely will be made, at least during my lifetime), I began to think to myself. I have really not begun to describe why it is so incredibly, utterly, mind-blowingly awesome, at least not on a level that fans can appreciate.
