World Of Warcraft is having another Patch Day. In other words, bend over!

I have mentioned it before, but like a lot of obsessive rejects with nothing better to do, I play World Of Warcraft a lot. And a pretty world-changing event, at least within the scope of the game, occurred a couple of days ago now. Yes, it was expansion-patch day.

World Of Warcraft, even in the face of peaking and declining subscription numbers, has more players than any other online multiplayer game that exists. At one point, the count was said to be eleven million players. Whilst this is hardly a large slice of the total world population, it is a lot compared to prior videogames that have made the news. However, when attempting to start the game for the first time, a lot of players tend to feel lost or confused. I am sure that readers of earlier entries on this journal already know this, but I will repeat it for the benefit of those who came in late. I play the MMORPG known as World Of Warcraft. I play it a lot. When I was a child, I read about things referred to in computer magazines called Multi-User Dungeons, or MUDs. And with some qualifications, MMORPGs are sort of what I imagined when I read those articles.
